South Africa is blessed with an abundance of wild gamebirds. We have the choice of 29 different gamebirds species, including the iconic guineafowl, quail, and 10 species of francolin and partridge. Waterfowl includes 8 species of ducks and 2 geese. There are 5 different doves and pigeons, and finally 2 species of sandgrouse. These are wild birds, virile, and strong fliers. There is no put and take hunting of gamebirds in South Africa. We specialise in one day birdshoots with an all inclusive service. Transport to and from your hotel in the greater Johannesburg area, the services of a Professional Hunter, the use of trained German Shorthair Pointers, and all meals and softdrinks.

Leslie has been hunting gamebirds for over 35 years, and together with his German Shorthair Pointers guides each hunt personally. After graduating from university with a BSc in Zoology and Genetics, Leslie pursued a career in a multinational pharmaceutical company. He retired from corporate life in his mid fifties, and decided to share his lifetime passion of hunting with others, helping them experience a great day in the veld. He is a regular contributor to Man Magnum magazine where he writes mostly about birdshooting, and has authored and published “South African Gamebird Recipes – a wingshooter’s delight” His home base is in Gauteng, and offers bird shooting opportunities throughout central South Africa.
